2024/2025 Guidelines on Admission Application

How to apply

• Obtain from school in person (Applications accepted all year round)

Before you apply:

1. The application form can be submitted in person / by post / online together with the following documents.

• Copy of the birth certificate of the student.
• Copy of the immunization record of the student. (both front and back page)
• One passport size photo of the student (white background). Please paste it on the application form.
• Four stamped and self-addressed envelopes (3 with $2.2 stamp and 1 with $3.3 stamp). Please write the name of the student on the envelopes.
  (Regardless of whether the application is successful or not, the documents provided above are for application purposes only and will not be returned)
• For N2 class admission, children must be over 2 years old when attending school. If children are under 2 years old in September 2024, please contact us by phone or in person for the application details.

2. Application fee: HK$40

• Please Bank-In the Deposit to our bank account as below and submit your payment receipt with applicant’s name and age group on the payment slip.
• N2   ：HSBC bank account “691-077440-001” HK 5-S INTL CHILD CARE CENTRE
• K1-K3：HSBC bank account “691-077432-001” HONG KONG 5-S KINDERGARTEN
• The bank transaction slip will be collected at the time of submitting the form. For online submission of the form, the transaction slip must be submitted/sent to the school to confirm the application.
  (The application fee is non-refundable whether the application is successful or not.)

Application for the “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” (Suitable for K1):

1. The Education Bureau will use the "Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission" as the K1 registration document for the 2025/26 school year.
2. Parents are required to submit an application for the “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” (hereafter referred to as “2025/26 RC”) to the EDB from September to November 2024.
   The “2025/26 RC” will be open for applications in September 2024 and the EDB will announce and upload the details of application onto the EDB’s website.

Admission Criteria:

1. Interview performance.
2. The applicant's sibling(s) currently studying in the kindergarten or our graduates will be given priority consideration.
3. If applying for a whole-day class, priority will be given to applicants with family needs.
   (As the number of school places is limited, please understand that not all applicants fulfilling the priority consideration will be guaranteed a school place.)

Interview Arrangements:

1. The kindergarten will arrange interviews for all applicants.
2. Interviews for K1 will be conducted on Saturday 2nd November 2024. Parents will be notified by post at the end of October.
3. Interviews for N2 will be conducted on Saturday 3^rd December 2024. Parents will be notified by post at the mid of November.(If parents have not received the interview notice one week before the interview, please call the school during office hours: 2721 0081 for enquiry)
4. Group or individual interviews will be arranged.
5. Parents should accompany their child for the interview.

Admission Application Arrangement for Non-Chinese Speaking Children:

1. When interviewing non-Chinese speaking children, schools can arrange interpretation/translation services for applicants as needed, Parents and children are allowed to be accompanied by a Chinese speaking relative/friend to facilitate communication in the interview.

3. Support measures for non-Chinese speaking children - The kindergarten has been approved to receive a support grant for supporting non-Chinese speaking students. Through the language environment that enriches Chinese language learning, an integrated school will promote the integration of students. It will also cooperate with non-governmental organizations to build an integrated school.

Announcement of Admission Results:

1. Admission result for K1 will be announced on Friday 6^th December 2024. Parents will be informed the result by post.​
2. Admission result for N2 will be announced on Friday 3rd January 2025. Parents will be informed the result by post.

Registration arrangement:

1. Successful applicants:
   Parents are required to complete the registration procedures at the school at the designated time within the “centralised registration dates” from 2^nd to 4^th January 2025, must submit the original "2025/26 RC" and pay the registration fee.
2. Applicants on the waiting list: 
   If the school still has vacancies, the school will notice applicants by post individually. Parents should come to our Kindergarten to complete the registration procedures for their child according to the specified date set by our Kindergarten, and submit the original "2025/26 RC" and pay the registration fee.
3. Please be reminded that if parents cannot submit the valid registration documents during registration, the school may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit application for the registration document to the EDB within the specified period.
4. Registration fee for 2025/26: half-day class is HK$970, whole-day class is HK$1,570.   
5. If parents decide to transfer their children after registration, please notify the school in writing. The school will return the relevant registration certificate, but the registration fee will not be refunded. After the RC is retrieved, the school will no longer retain the place for the child.
